Yesterday I posted the introduction to this series which will cover the launch of a new blog project that I have undertaken. So lets get started.
I love books and this feeling has been reinforced with my new years resolution to read a book at least every fortnight and I actually really enjoy sharing my thoughts on the books that I read. Anyway this got me thinking and I felt that I would be a good idea to launch a blog solely devoted to books and book reviews. I wanted to make it a community affair so that other “Book Worms” could post their own reviews and generally collaborate on reviews and book related stuff! I also have an evil plan to do with independent book retailers, but more of that in a later post.
It was then that the idea for the Blogging Book Worm was born! I though that the name was representative of the goals of the project and had relevancy. Off to find if that domain was available.
I was surprised to find the domain name free so it was quickly registered using Name.com my preferred domain name registrar. I already have more web hosting which is more than capable of running the new blog and would do for the time being. Once the domain and hosting was decided I started to plan the phases of the launch, these can be summarised as follows:
- Blog Target – Who is the blog for
- Blog Identity
- Blog Design
- Analytics & Monitoring
- Blog promotion
- Lastly but most importantly content
In the next post I will focus on the Blog target & Blog Identity phase of the project.
